The Good Daughter Tax

The Good Daughter Tax - for busy sandwich carers

A 9-week journey from “You Are” to “I Am” — because being a sandwich carer shouldn’t cost you an arm, a leg, and your mind.

Who it’s for
You’re raising kids, supporting ageing parents, holding down a job, running a house and navigating menopause, all at once. Somewhere along the way you became responsible for everyone: the good daughter, the good mum, the good wife, the good employee. Good to everyone but yourself.

Being the good daughter has its own tax. It’s paid in sleep, in patience, in health, and in the parts of you that used to feel more alive and carefree.

What changes
This programme is about auditing that cost and finding a fairer system, one where the word “should” is banned. You’ll trade “I can’t” for “I can” and “I am”, and move away from guilt, burnout and invisibility.

How it works
Over nine weeks, we work through six steps:

  1. The Tax Return: put a real number on everything you carry, and what it costs you

  2. The Write-Off: identify what was never yours to carry, and who you can hand it back to

  3. The Small Print: uncover the unspoken rules you’ve been paying under

  4. The Rebate: reclaim who you were before the roles piled up

  5. The New Deal: have the conversation, and agree who does what now

  6. Paid in Full: move between your roles without the tax being reapplied
